“ADHD, Communication & What to Do About it”
Understanding ADHD means moving beyond seeing it only as an attention disorder. It’s much more than that, impacting a broader cognitive skill set called executive function. Executive function acts as the brain manager, coordinating and planning everything in life from home to health to school. As part of that larger view, one of the most under-discussed aspects of ADHD is its direct impact on communication. This talk reviews the impact of ADHD and executive function challenges on communication, as well as practical solutions for communicating with more ease, less reactivity, and greater awareness. The overall intention is to integrate evidence-based ADHD care, principles of nonviolent communication, and mindfulness to build strong communication skills.
